How did you get started with Lift Breakfast Bakery and what do you like about operating in North Vancouver?

It was Jane’s dream to open a neighbourhood bakery that served breakfast. That dream became a reality when Jane met Fraser who had a business background and believed in her talent and abilities perhaps in more than Jane herself.

North Vancouver, especially the Shipyards District has really embraced and supported us. We have very loyal and supportive guests that keep us doing what we do and a beautiful surrounding neighbourhood of friendly and helpful business owners as well.

What are your most popular food items and your inspirations in creating them?

Oh, that’s a hard one! It would be a Tie between our Heritage Hash and Bennies. The bennies are special because they are served on crispy potato roestis instead of traditional English muffins, putting our stamp on them. Also making them gluten free which means more people can enjoy them!

What do you currently offer for ongoing day to day specials or happy hour promotions?

We offer daily lunch specials and well as brunch specials on the weekend. They are consistently changing from frittata’s, pastries to soup , so best to pop on in and check them out.

Lastly, is there anything else you might want our readers to know about you or lift breakfast bakery?

What makes this place special is Jane. There are very few chefs in the world that can claim that they worked in the Michelin’s number one ranked restaurant in the world and Jane is one of them. Jane worked at the world famous El Bulli, that is just outside of the small town of Roses, Spain. El Bulli restaurant was recognized as the # 1 restaurant a record five times and received a Michelin 3 star rating, (which is the highest). Jane worked there till it was closed on July 30, 2011.

Jane’s concept for Lift Breakfast Bakery, was to use her high-end skill set and bring it to everyday food.
